What Issues Affect You?

College Buses 

Buses being on time is a very rare occasion. Getting a bus to college every morning is one of the biggest issues that affects teens at South Downs College today.

Bus drivers - as most of you will agree - are the furthest thing from charming. 

Frowning at the front of the bus , they try their hardest to leave students waiting in the cold. Driving past each bus stop without letting people on is one of the biggest issues.

After speaking to students at South Downs College , it was agreed that most of them are put off college all together due to the poor bus schedules and timetables (which they do not stick to).

Jade Hale said: 'My parents pay good money for me to have a bus pass, yet its a rare occasion that a bus comes past and lets me on it within an hour of standing at the bus stop.'

Bus drivers are not only late but sometimes early. Either is useless to college students. Watching the clock and planning the bus times is pointless as the bus drivers take nothing into consideration. Even running for the bus and waving at the driver to stop will not prevent them from driving away.

But Emily White - like most of us - is not worried about getting home. She says 'It's not so much getting back , it's being able to get there that's the problem and being late is not a good option. But , it is our only option.'
